T R A I N I N G GU I D E 7 Strategy Selection Next, you will move onto Strategy Selection by selecting the Start button. If you want to assign investments after the account is opened, you can select the Defer option, and it will mark the section as complete but not include any strategies on the application. When you select the Mutual Fund strategy, you will be able to see the risk rating, if there is a minimum, and select the percentage you want for each model. The percentage total must equal 100% or it will not populate on the application. The 100% is only for the strategy allocations you want to select and is not indicative of the entirety of the funding. You will have a choice on how much of the funding will go toward the model(s) later on. The strategies are then arranged accordingly, based on the account type you selected. Since this example is an IRA, the standard PC strategies are listed first. If you selected a Non-IRA, then the Tax-Managed strategies will be listed first. If you selected a Custom Strategy previously, your firm's Custom Strategies will be listed first. If you selected an SEI ETF Strategy or SEI American Funds Strategy, those would be listed instead. Note that only one SEI ETF Strategy or SEI American Funds Strategy may be selected in an account for the time being. When you are selecting strategies and assigning percentages, the Allocations bar along the bottom will update and not allow you to proceed if your total percentages exceed 100%. After you have selected the model(s), select Next and it will take you to a page where additional options may be available. If you have selected multiple strategies, then you will have the option of choosing whether you want those strategies to rebalance, not just on their own, but across the model, keeping those strategies close to the overall account allocation you just selected. For example, if you select Yes, and there are two strategies initially set to a 60/40 split, the strategies will individually rebalance. Then look to see if they are out of the 60/40-split variance. If so, place additional trades to get the account within variance. Depending on the strategy selected, you may also be asked about state-specific bonds.
