10 Tax-Managed ETF Strategies Asset allocation strategies developed by SEI on the foundation of long-term capital market assumptions. The SEI Tax-Managed ETF Strategies make use of a full complement of ETFs, selected by SEI, and seek to provide a high level of diversification across a variety of asset classes. • The strategies may use tax-management techniques such as purchasing municipal fixed- income ETFs to seek to create tax-exempt income, controlling the Strategyʼs turnover levels, selling securities with the least tax impact, and opportunistically harvesting losses • Strategy risk profiles span the range of fixed income to equity. • Through overlay portfolio management, the Strategies use the process of tax-loss harvesting— selling a security that has experienced a loss and replacing that sold security with a similar one, while seeking to maintain an optimal asset allocation and expected returns. By realizing, or "harvesting" a loss, investors can offset taxes on both gains and income.
